Bob Goldsmith Chairman.
Freeman Bever Asst. Chairman.
Charles Stidham Asst. Chairman.

Committee Volunteers. The nature of our activities means, we are always in need of volunteers. We are fortunate to have a pool of volunteers who help us with special events. To these we owe a huge debt of gratitude, without them our program would be much less effective. However because of the number of events we provide and the area we cover, we are always in need of volunteers, and we invite members to consider volunteering, at whatever functions and for whatever period of time they can contribute. Please contact Bob Goldsmith to become part of the Family Day & Teen Committee.

The Role of the Committee The Committee’s role is to put together a complete program which covers all aspects of Teen Clubs and a Family Fun Day activity in Ohio. It is our hope this page will help keep members informed on the many ways we seek to achieve this. We urge members to please make every effort to be part of them,

Our Annual Family Day activity is for all Moose Members of Ohio Moose Lodges and other qualified Guests. We invite members to the Annual Moose Family Funfest, and enjoy the fun. We also encourage members to participate in this event in other ways.

First. We invite individual members and other units to take an active role in the Moose Family Funfest by creating their own activity or event. This will increase the number of activities available on the day, help promote the special roles of their unit’s, and help their finances at the same time. For information go to Annual Moose Family Funfest,

Secondly. Volunteers are needed on the day to ensure our many activities are available for the whole day. Even the offer of a small period of time will be a tremendous help and enhance the enjoyment of members. Contact The Chairman to register as a volunteer.

Teen Clubs Activities. We encourage the growth of Moose Teen Clubs and their activities within Ohio Moose Lodges. We seek to do this by creating programs, procedures, fun activities, aid in the formation of new Teens Clubs and promote the good health of existing ones. To this end we to offer practical assistance to Lodges in matters related to Moose Teen Clubs.

To ensure there are common core values we provide a number of tools. The first is a Teen Club Book This will guide interested parties through the difficult start-up stage towards a active and successful teen operation. In response to many requests the is a suggested Installation of Officers ceremony which clubs can use. To encourage teens to stay in the Teen Clubs until they can transition directly into Lodge or Chapter membership, Teen Club’s now follows somewhat the format of the LOOM and WOTM, and rewards those who do by advancement into higher level of the section. These levels are marked by pins which denote each level and can be purchased by contacting Bob Goldsmith. As with all the Moose endeavors Community Service is a major factor in the Teen Clubs life and we are pleased to report Teen Club’s effort in this field, along with their service to their Lodge and Chapter is now recognized with Teen Club’s now being included in the
Buckeye Awards Program in their own right. We are now able to assist advisors maintain the data required by providing a Database Program for Teen Club Management by contacting Bob Goldsmith.  We encourage Advisers to ensure their effort are known by the filling of Teen Districts Reports of their activities and ensuring they are read at District Meetings by passing the report to the Governor, or Senior Regent. At a last resort reports can be sent to the Chairman, but it should be recognized doing so means the district members will not know to the good work Teens do in their area.

Teen Team Challenges. A program of Teen Team Challenges is planed every year. It is hope there will be one challenge in each quadrant of the State, while this is yet to be achieved; we do generally manage 3 such events each years. Two of which are whole weekend events with Host Lodges providing a tents village. Lodge are invited to become host of one of these events, and can agree dates for this year or some future years as they wish.

Dexterity Games, This is a new venture which seems to have meet a need and could well become a annual event. However this is seen as a way to introduce our youth to Mooseheart Residents and at the same create the means to increase the number of members who have an opportunity to visit one of the fraternity’s most enduring contributions to society.

Youth Electronic Darts. Starting in 2005/6 moose year the committee will introduce a State Wide Electronic Dart Tournament. Heats will be held in Lodges/Chapters with the winners of the heats moving up to a area or state final depending on the level of participation. In keeping with the new spirit of joint involvement The committee is asking the Chapters to adopt this event and oversee the local heats of the event. Details from Bob Goldsmith

Teen Pool Tournament Also new to the program is the State Wide Teen Pool Tournament. Again it is expected the heats of this event will be held in Lodges, the LOOM taking the responsibility of setting up the heats in Lodges. This is being created in conjunction with International Sport Committeeman Buck Dials, and if successful could become part of a larger Youth Sports Program offered by the fraternity Details available from Bob Goldsmith on request.

Drive, Chip & Putting Tournament This State Wide Teen Driving Tournament is to be arranged through the summer and fell and each District has been asked to undertake the organization of local heats. With the Finals being held at a State Level. This is being created in conjunction with International Sport Committeeman Buck Dials, and if successful could become part of a larger Youth Sports Program offered by the fraternity Details available from Bob Goldsmith on request.

Lodge and Chapter Family days. The committee has acquired much equipment in recent times and is willing to make this available to Lodges for their family events. Many Lodges have taken advantage of this and to ensure your Lodge dates are available early arrangements should be made. There are special requirement to use this program and you should Contact Bob Goldsmith for details.
