Committee Objective.

The Committee is charged with increasing the number of Moose Facilities in Ohio. These may be Lodge or Chapter Moose Service Centers (M.S.E.)

Mission Statement.
“ To create an environment within the O.S.M.A. which fosters and embraces permanent unit growth.”

Committee Mission.
Experience shows unit expansion centers around common elements.  Therefore any plan should be framed to include them, yet to be flexible enough to meet local conditions. An important ingredient of any plan will be to sustain volunteer’s energy and enthusiasm through the ups and downs of creating a new moose unit. The plan should recognize and reward the efforts of participants. For such a plan to succeed it must enjoy the support and participation of members throughout the state. It is felt every district could manage at least 2 two new units therefore we are aiming for that in the next two years.

“The Grow Ohio 30 Campaign”
We shall do this by “The Grow Ohio 30 Campaign”
Members who;

     a.  Sponsors of a candidate in any new Moose Unit (Lodge or Chapter) will have their names entered into a drawing  to win a prize to be the guest of O.S.M.A. at Annual or Mid-winter Convention. Every additional member sponsored gets the sponsor an additional chance in the draw.

     b.  Additionally, sponsors of 7 members into a new Moose unit will receive a special shirt which will mark them out as being a “Grow Ohio 30 Sponsor."

     c.  Sponsors of 15 or more candidates to a new Moose unit will in addition receive the special “Grow Ohio 30 Sponsor” Jacket.

     d.  Members who recommend a viable potential M.S.C. location which is used by the committee shall receive a special Shirt which marks them as a “ Moose  M.S.C.  Sponsor”.

     e.  Districts which achieve a viable M.S.C. location within their districts shall a get “Moose M.S.C.  Sponsor” shirt for both President and Secretary.

     f.  Member’s who take on the position of M.S.C. Coordinator shall, in addition to the individual awards, upon institution of the unit, receive a special “Grow Ohio 30 Coordinator” Jacket.

     g.  Units can earn a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award dependent upon three Levels of participation.

Bronze: By fulfilling their financial commitment to sell "grow Ohio" pins.

Silver : By  fulfilling the pin commitment and a new M.S.C. is growing in their District.

Updates of the campaign so far.
Germantown location. Meetings are being held 2nd Thursday of each month, call for the location. Candidates have committed for a lodge and Chapter. We are in talks about a small building but we are not able to do much more until we reach the number of candidates required.

One other location is still being considered but some local logistics need to be worked out.

The three attached files show the participation so far. If you cannot find your Lodge or Chapter among them, it is because they never collected their allocation of “Grow Ohio 30 ” pins at the last State Convention, but you will have the opportunity to do so in August.

The committee is interested in hearing from you regarding the logistics of starting a new unit; volunteering to help create a new unit or have a suggestion for a location you can contact me on rgoldsmith@cinci.rr.com .
